The Awakening: Be Brave and Keep Going

There comes a point where you wake up and realize… it’s time to stop talking about the glow-up and actually level all the way up. Not the aesthetic version. Not the daydream version. The real one. The woman who is grounded, consistent, and aware of her own power.

I have been sitting in this quiet awakening lately, a deep, no-nonsense kind of clarity.

It’s not loud.

It’s not glamorous by any means.

It’s the kind that meets you in the mirror and says, “Okay, sis… now what?”

It’s an awakening that humbles you and strengthens you all at once. It invites you to examine where you’ve become complacent, where you’ve been coasting, and where you’ve been waiting for change instead of being the change.

An anatomically correct human heart symbolizing courage, healing ,and emotional awakening

And what’s funny is, even though I’ve drifted from my yoga practice over the years, those foundational principles: discipline, stillness, surrender, flexibility, truth, they’ve never left me. They live in my bones. They whisper reminders when I need them most, and to be honest, sometimes they roar.

We all have something like that, our roots, our grounding source.

For some, it’s their Bible study or daily prayer.

For others, it’s time in nature, meditation, or movement.

Whatever it is, keep it close.

Even if you’ve stepped away for a season, it’s still part of your essence.

Every version of you matters.

Every step matters.

Every detour, every pause, every comeback, all of it is sacred.

When I think back to my days as a yoga instructor, traveling and learning the ropes of balancing the business of yoga, I had this little saying that carried me through: Be brave and keep going.

It was simple, but it got me through the messy middle, the part where doubt, self-sabotage, and fear hang out like uninvited guests.

And now, many moons later, that same phrase still hits home.

Because bravery isn’t just about starting something new, it’s about continuing when the excitement fades. It’s about showing up again after you’ve questioned everything. It’s about realigning with who you’ve always been beneath all the noise.

So as I enter this new chapter, I am reclaiming that phrase as my life mantra, my tombstone tagline, honestly. Lol.

"Be brave and keep going."

No matter how many times you have to pause, pivot, or start again… keep your heart grounded and your spirit brave.

Because that’s the real glow-up.

Not perfection, but persistence.

Not pretending, but presence.

Be brave and keep going. 🌿

With Heart.

Yours Truly,

Mika
