This is where my roots, my purpose, and my heart have come full circle.
If you’ve ever found yourself tired to the bone but still searching for purpose,
if you’ve ever needed something more than a shift change and a cup of coffee,
if you’ve ever longed to feel held the way you hold others,
then you’re in the right place.
Because this is The Nursing Well… and baby, it’s more than just a blog.
It’s a homecoming.
To my name.
To my truth.
To my healing.
To my well.

Why “The Nursing Well”?
I called this blog The Nursing Well for a few reasons; some intentional, some spiritual, some that didn’t even hit me until I started writing this exact post. (Isn’t that how the best things happen?)
Here’s what it means to me:
1. Wells Are for Water , And Water Is for Healing
A well is a source.
A place where you go to draw water, life, nourishment, hydration.
In nursing, we are the wells.
We give, give, give.
But so often, we forget to refill.
This blog is my refill station.
It’s where I come to remember that my well matters too.
That if I am empty, I cannot overflow.
So every post, every word, every affirmation they are not just for you.
They are for me too.
2. “Wells” Is Literally My Name
Yes, my maiden name is Wells. IKR?!
It’s like Spirit was planting the seed years ago.
This title The Nursing Well isn’t just poetic…
It’s ancestral.
It’s encoded in me.
It’s who I’ve always been, even before I knew I’d become a nurse or a dreamer who would heal through her words.
It’s not just a title. It’s a remembrance.
3. It’s the Union of My Calling and My Care
Nursing is what I do.
But the well is how I do it; with intention, with love, with gentleness and care.
This blog is where my clinical life and my inner life hold hands.
Where the nurse and the nurturer merge.
Where I talk about work and worth.
Boundaries and bubble baths.
It’s holistic. It’s heartfelt. It’s a hug in blog form.
And Honestly… It’s Healing Me Too
When I started The Nursing Well, I was tired.
Like, soul-tired.
Not just from work but from carrying so much, giving so much, hoping so much without a space to release or recharge.
This blog is where I began to pour back into myself.
To share what I wish someone had sat me down and told me.
To romanticize my life again, to find magic in the mundane.
It has made me softer.
Stronger.
More connected to my truth than ever.
And now?
It’s becoming a source of abundance too.
A Soft Invitation
So if you’re a nurse, a caregiver, a healer, or just someone who’s tired but trying,
Welcome to The Nursing Well.
Let’s sip from the sacred together.
Let’s cry, laugh, heal, and glow together.
This is your reminder that you deserve to be well, too.
Not just functioning. Not just surviving.
But truly, deeply, joyfully well.
With open arms and an overflowing cup,
Mika Wells
